The above linked article is another review of The Watch, which be premiering on January 3.
I plan to watch it when I get a chance. The DVR is set.
I love the show Blackish. The first spinoff was Grownish. It’s geared toward college aged people, but I still find it enjoyable.
The second spinoff was Mixedish. I absolutely love this show, since it takes place in the 80s and I can totally relate to it. It talks of difficult situations. It really makes me think, just like Blackish does.
Now, I find that Oldish will be coming out soon. Another spinoff. I hope its writing is done as well as the others.
There’s a lot to love with the first three, so I hope adding a fourth will be a great idea. I am sure that there will be heavy topics and I’ll have a lot to think about.
Season 4 is underway! I am so excited. Unfortunately, because of safety and social distancing, the audience will be virtual. The article above doesn’t make it clear about how they will be doing the voting. It sounds like the producers aren’t quite clear about it, either.
I am glad they are continuing such a fun, light-hearted show for another season. According to this article, the show will air September 23.
The costumes have been released, and there’s going to be a sneak peek show on September 13, according to this article.
I am ready for it!
I look forward to the series mentioned in the above linked article. The movie is one of my favorite movies, and I look forward to hearing new stories based on the female baseball players. It seems to be coming out on Amazon Prime Video, but I can’t seem to be able to tell when it will be coming out.
The series Pitch was short-lived, but I loved that, too. I hope that women in baseball becomes more prominent. Not just as announcers.
I started watching this series after I got multiple recommendations from various sources. I sat down and watched the first episode. It had a lot going on, and I wasn’t too sure that I was going to like the series. I gave the second episode a shot, because I figured that there are so many people watching it and recommending it, it must be good. I was hooked at the second episode.
I have just started the third season, after loving seasons one and two. I love how each episode has a different main character, and the story flows from his or her point of view.
There is still a lot going on and there are a lot of characters to keep track of, but it is definitely worth watching. The little mysteries that come up every season are worth it, and mostly not silly. They aren’t like Scooby Doo type mysteries, but they keep your attention while you are trying to figure them out.
The series is well worth watching!
Hulu will be airing last night’s SNL from home today. Tom Hanks hosted. I am curious about how they filmed it. According to the above linked article, they had no makeup crew and did a lot with no video.
I can’t wait for it to be released on Hulu, but parts of it are on YouTube already.
I came across the above linked article on St Patrick’s Day. I started looking at them and realized that I hadn’t seen The Commitments in years. I tried to find it on Netflix, but it’s not available unless I rent it. I did end up finding the series Derry Girls which is pretty entertaining. I’ll probably get that finished before the social distancing is finished.
Fifty years ago yesterday, according to the above linked article, Sesame Street debuted Rubber Ducky. It’s still a song that everyone seems to know. What would we do without this catchy tune working its way into our brains on occasion? Happy anniversary!
Fifty shows to watch this winter
I have heard of some of these, and some of the descriptions make them sound less than interesting, but some are fairly decent.
I have watched the show that Awkwafina has started, and I enjoy it. It doesn’t take a lot of thought, but it’s humorous. I am interested in AJ and the Queen, but I need to find out when it’s on.
I am curious to know what they did with Little Fires Everywhere, since I did enjoy the book.
I am not going to take the time to watch all of these, but some of them are worth it, I think. I also think that some of them are going to flop, and quickly.
I watched the recent Amazon Prime series, Modern Love. The above linked article has 25 essays related to the show, written by various authors.
I loved the series and I hope they do more episodes, but the final one pretty much tied it up. A girl can hope, though, right?
