Getting out again

I haven’t been writing about my daily adventures lately because I had been sick. I hadn’t been going anywhere, and sleeping most of the day isn’t a very interesting thing to write about.

I got out a few times, but didn’t write anything, because I was so worn out when I got home. I took photos and I remembered what I did. I’ll be writing about them soon, I hope. I have been getting comments and requests for the adventures.

Now that I’m feeling a lot better, we will see what happens.

Day of Rest

I have been sick for a while. I am almost better, but I had been sick enough that I didn’t feel like reading or blogging. All the blog posts that went up had been written before and scheduled to post automatically.

While I was sick, I barely watched TV, even. Friends reruns are great, because I didn’t feel guilty about falling asleep during them, since I’ve seen them all, multiple times.

I was supposed to go to a Super Bowl party today, but I figured that I should probably get the rest I needed instead. My plan was to stay at home and read.

Inky thought this was a great plan. She stole my Snuggie and snuggled up next to me. Mini even stooped low enough to lie down at the foot of the bed. This was great until I had to go to the bathroom. I got up and all feline visitors went flying off the bed.

When I returned from the bathroom, I found both cats in my spot. They were actually surprised that I wanted it back. Did they think I was going to attempt to sleep in the cat bed?

I haven’t finished any books today, but I’m making progress on several. I am hoping to get my next bookclub book finished by the weekend. We’ll find out. There might be napping going on today, too.

Doing a favor for a friend

A friend asked me to do a favor for her at 4 am today. I said no problem. Alarms all set, I went to sleep. I woke up at 1 am, and realized that it was possible she meant 4 am Eastern time. Yup! Thankfully, I realized it in plenty of time to get it done. Now I get to sleep in, feeling accomplished.

In theory, that is. I got the order done, but the card I tried to use didn’t want to work, so I had to fully wake up to figure out why and what to do. Then I tried to email her the confirmation that I’d accomplished my middle of the night task, but my address book on my email account decided that it wasn’t going to work. I had to hand type her email address in. Thankfully, I knew it, but suddenly blanked on if it was yahoo or gmail. I guessed right.

Of course, by then I had to get up and use the bathroom, because what else does one do in the middle of the night?

I got back in bed and had to find extra blankets since our heatwave finally broke and my toes were cold.

I didn’t eat much dinner because I wasn’t hungry at dinner time. I don’t want to get up and eat at this time of night because I don’t want to let my stomach think that it’s an option. I’ll drink water, so I’ll have to get up and use the bathroom again in an hour or so.

I don’t know where my purse is with my kindle on it, and I don’t want to fall asleep with my reading light on, so I decided to write here instead of read. It didn’t make me tired, though. I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and find the purse.

Now that I’ve found the purse by getting up and turning on the light, I should be fully awake.

And I just remembered that my daughter reminded me right before bedtime that I told her I’d drive her and a friend somewhere with no parking in the morning. At least her version of morning starts closer to noon than most people’s version of morning.

It’s 2 am now. I am going to stop writing and read for a little while. Hopefully I’m tired enough that a little while won’t take me to morning. Goodnight!

Trip to visit dad

I have had a meeting scheduled and rescheduled since before my trip. We just can’t get our schedules together.

It was rescheduled from yesterday to today again, and then from this morning to this evening.

I planned on picking up cream puffs for Dad and visiting him. It’s a couple of stops past where dad’s staying, so I went there first. I found out that they were closed for remodeling. I got him ice cream instead.

I arrived at Dad’s room to find him picking at his lunch. He said hello and fell sound asleep. Apparently, he’d been agitated last night, so he was given meds. He was still sleeping them off.

My mom and her cousins were visiting Dad, too. We decided to grab lunch at cafe mystique, since he was sound asleep.

After lunch, I headed to the main library to wait for my meeting. I found several $1 books that I needed.

The bathroom attendant was listening to something loud, so I asked if it was an audiobook. Nope. She was watching ex on the beach.

As I was leaving the library, I noticed that someone was watching porn on the library computer that was intended for word processing. He has a thirty minute limit, at least. I was also passed by a guy wearing duct tape on his face. It was completely covered. Security commented on the duct tape… You wouldn’t be in the library if you didn’t see something odd, especially in San Francisco. I always see something odd.
