I can’t get my homework done

For my class this summer, there is a lot of reading. I hate the textbook, so it makes it more difficult.

We were told that no assignment could be retaken without a valid excuse. Family, work, etc are not excuses. Medical excuses with a note will be considered.

The instructor did not mention cats sitting on your textbook as an excuse. Maybe the photo below will help convince her?

Inky climbed over me to sit on my book as I was reading it. I guess I could get 3/4 of the page read, but that would give me a 75% grade at best on the test.

I eventually moved so I could look at the power point on my laptop at the same time as I was reading the text book. Inky came back to help warm up the keyboard on the laptop. I struggled with her a bit until I convinced her to sit next to me, not on me. We’re both much happier that way.

Telling Me Just What She Thinks

Inky always has a plan for me. Sometimes she is very clear about what she wants. Other times she is more subtle.

Here is what she thinks of my homework

Here is what she thinks of my zoom meetings.

Here is what she thinks of my attempt to watch TV.

In order to get into these positions, she has to step on me, my project, whatever tools I’m using and all over the bed. She tries to relocate my stuff and me to a more comfortable place for her.

For zoom meetings, she must step on the keyboard and say hello to the meeting members. Sometimes she ends up mooning them, too, but I try to stop her before that happens.

For someone who can’t really talk, she certainly tells me her opinions.

The above linked article is a YouTube video that entertained me to no end. It was a long video, but I laughed during most of it. No squirrels were injured in the filming, from what I understand.

This video is what happens when someone with carpentry skills has way too much time on his hands. He did a lot of research. There is a lot of squirrel info and info on how he built it.

I did particularly enjoy the photo shoot area, and Phat Gus. Squirrels are smart creatures. We don’t give them enough credit, I think.

Where Kittens Roam Free

Where kittens roam free

The bookstore mentioned in the above linked article brings kittens to the store in hopes they will be adopted. There is an adoption fee, but it includes all vaccinations and the kittens are all healthy.

I loved seeing the little kittens among the books. I could have done without the earwax removal commercials all throughout the article, though.

Puppies were mentioned later in the article, but it seems that they aren’t in the bookstore. This is probably a wise idea.

A feline infatuation with bedding

I don’t understand why cats are so fascinated with sheet changing day. Usually, I have to move Inky a few times while changing sheets. Sometimes I just end up throwing the blankets over her so I can get it done more quickly.

Yesterday, it was Mini who was the issue. I moved her about a dozen times before calling for reinforcements. Mini usually isn’t a person cat, and my presence offends her, normally. I guess the call of clean sheets was too much for her. I had to call the family to help keep her out of the way.

What is it with bedding? I thought it might be the smell of the sheets right out of the drier, or maybe the warmth? The sheets had been washed the week before and stored away, so it was neither.

My final answer: Cats are weird.
