Six Books Behind

Goodreads informed me that I’m six books behind on my annual goal. Yes. I’m falling behind after a great start to the year.

I have several books started and I’ve almost finished many of them. I just haven’t been pushing myself to do my for me reading. I need to remember to get some of these books done, too.

I’m coming up on finals week, so I’m going to fall a little further behind before moving forward. Summer session might be a little breather, or it might be a little more difficult than expected. I’m going to try to use the week between Spring and Summer sessions to breathe and take a little vacation. Hopefully a book or two will be finished on this breathing time.

Today is the second day of the Bay Area book festival. I didn’t go yesterday because I went to the ceremony to honor Buster Posey before the Giants game. I was supposed to go to the ballet after the game, but I ended up skipping it.

Because of the fact that today’s mothers day and that I have a ton of stuff to do for school, I think I’m skipping the book festival today.

I had a rough week of school following a weekend away, so a lot of stuff backed up.

I think I’m going to be spending mother’s day by doing the grocery shopping and writing school papers. I have one due tomorrow and four other papers due later this week. I still have reading and film watching to do for the papers, so I think I’m going to have to adult today.

Catching Up

The reading for school slowed my regular reading down. Luckily, I received a free children’s book and it got me started on a rabbit’s hole of children’s book that were related. I am now only 7 books behind on my goal. 50 books completed this year. I still have a few to review. Several are scheduled for future postings, so you’ll be seeing them pop up soon.

I have several books that are not children’s books with good chunks started. I have deadlines for several of them, but I don’t think I’ll meet the deadlines. I will, however, be able to finish them at some point soon.

I am a tad ahead on my school assignments, so at least I am not completely behind. I don’t think this semester will have a 4.0 GPA attached, but passing is the goal, not straight A’s. Aim for excellence, not perfection!

15 Books Behind

I have been reading. Really, I have. I haven’t been finishing much, and when I do finish, I haven’t written reviews. I spent time this week, between classes, catching up a bit.

In theory, since June 30 is roughly the middle of the year, I should have had 55 books completed by then. I think I had 38 done at that point. I am catching up, and I am sure I will fall further behind once school starts up hard again in the Fall. I think I will be close. Only time will tell.
