I have completed book 89 of 110 for the year. I think I might make it to my goal. I have been reading more quickly that I expected, since school books and book club books are pushing me along.
I have not been exactly keeping up on reviews, so I am getting to them as I can. As you may or may not have noticed, they aren’t getting posted in order. I’m getting there, though.
I am partially finished with several books, so the number to go should change quickly, depending on how much I manage to read in the next few days, and how well I keep up with homework. I am ahead in several classes and just keeping up in others. I have a few research papers to do, so those might slow me down a little.
I’ll keep you posted.
I’m still reading, but just not finishing much. It’s frustrating because I know I can keep up with the challenge, but my brain is fixed on deadlines. I start a book, get most of the way finished before the deadline of a school assignment or bookclub. The deadline passes, so I put the book down and move on to the next. At least I’m only single digits behind!
I have so many books almost completed and put away that I could almost finish the challenge if I actually did it.
I’m going to be poolside for a few days, so maybe I’ll bring them along and get them done. Fingers crossed!
The reading for school slowed my regular reading down. Luckily, I received a free children’s book and it got me started on a rabbit’s hole of children’s book that were related. I am now only 7 books behind on my goal. 50 books completed this year. I still have a few to review. Several are scheduled for future postings, so you’ll be seeing them pop up soon.
I have several books that are not children’s books with good chunks started. I have deadlines for several of them, but I don’t think I’ll meet the deadlines. I will, however, be able to finish them at some point soon.
I am a tad ahead on my school assignments, so at least I am not completely behind. I don’t think this semester will have a 4.0 GPA attached, but passing is the goal, not straight A’s. Aim for excellence, not perfection!
I have been reading. Really, I have. I haven’t been finishing much, and when I do finish, I haven’t written reviews. I spent time this week, between classes, catching up a bit.
In theory, since June 30 is roughly the middle of the year, I should have had 55 books completed by then. I think I had 38 done at that point. I am catching up, and I am sure I will fall further behind once school starts up hard again in the Fall. I think I will be close. Only time will tell.
I will own it. I am 15 books behind on my annual challenge.
The books that I have been reading for school require more attention than I give books that I read for pleasure.
I may be behind on my challenge, but I am not behind on schoolwork. I have time to catch up. I also have every confidence in myself that I will.
I have fallen behind on my annual reading goal, as I posted a while ago. I have been working on catching up, but mostly I have been starting books and not finishing them. I was 11 books behind a few weeks ago. I finished a few books, and now, I am 11 books behind! I guess it’s good that I am not falling further behind, but I would rather be ahead. I will be able to finish several books all at once, since I have started so many. I hope that finishing them will at least get me into single digits behind. Fingers crossed, everyone!
I am a little behind on my annual challenge. It isn’t a big deal, because I am only 2 books behind. Also, if I don’t make it, nothing will happen. I will catch up, since I have several books almost complete. It makes me a little anxious to be behind, but I know I can fix this easily.
I am plugging along with my book challenge for the year. At this point last year, I was much further ahead, but I am still on course for finishing by 12/31. I’ve read some good books this year so far, and I have some good ones planned.
Part of why I am further ahead is because I was reading an ARC for an author and it turned out to be 4 books. I’m not complaining. The books kept my attention pretty well, and they gave me a little push toward being ahead this year. I should finish book 3 and 4 tonight and tomorrow. I’ll be all ready for February before the week ends.
I am wondering if I should change my goal to 120, so it’s even with the months of the year. I can always change it later, so I think I’ll stick with what I have planned.
Yesterday, January 2, one of the women in an online book group posted a conversation she had with her husband. He asked her how many books she’s read this year, already knowing because he followed her Goodreads feed. The answer was 9.
The conversation continued. He asked if she’d gotten anything other than reading done in the past two days. She told him that yes, she’d also bought a hat on Amazon.
The book group wanted to know details about the hat.
I attempt to set resolutions every year, but they are not true resolutions, just my plan to accomplish something.
In 2020, I didn’t do as well as I’d hoped. I met my reading goal. I went back to school for real classes.
I didn’t do as well on my fitness goals, but there was a lot going on.
For 2021, I’m going to attempt similar goals. I’ll increase my reading goal to 110. I’m going to attempt classes at the University level. My exercise goals are going to depend on what is acceptable in the county, but I’ll be working on that plan once things clear up a bit. I plan on at least one blog post a day and to get What Are You Reading Wednesday out weekly. I plan on getting back to my adventures when I can, including taking two trips this year, if it’s safe to do so.
I feel like my goals aren’t as lofty as they have been in past years, but after the way 2020 went, I want to be sure I can meet the goals that I set. Not too easy, not too hard.
