This is a cute book about doing your research before choosing your perfect pet. It seems that an ostrich isn’t quite perfect for anyone who doesn’t live in large open spaces and doesn’t know how to feed one.

The illustrations are wonderful and the story is cute. It would make a perfect bedtime story.

I loved this book. I enjoyed it more knowing about the author’s first book, My Shadow is Pink. I knew the concept from the first book, so I didn’t have to think much about what the author meant when he referred to the child’s shadow.

The illustrations and the story were wonderful and I loved that it showed acceptance and friendship.

I would recommend this book to everyone!

I loved this book! What if the characters had some say in what happens to them? The author tells a story that doesn’t quite go the way that it traditionally does.

The illustrations are wonderful and the main character’s comments are fun.

Who said that the story has to end the way it’s been written?

I loved this book. The illustrations are great and it attempts to bend gender roles a bit. Who says that the girl always has to do the household chores?

I love that the characters take over the story, leaving the narrator confused and frustrated. It all works out in the end, but not in the way that we think it will.

What a cute book about a toddler teaching Grandpa how to get dressed. Grandpa almost gets it. The toddler has to help him.

It’s a great generational story with wonderful illustrations.

This would make a great bedtime story for kids in snowy areas or those planning a snow trip. I recommend it.

What a cute, mistold fairy tale! Nothing is the way it should be, but who says that should be the way it is?

The illustrations are great and they go along with the story very well.

This is part of a series, and I can’t wait to read the other books. I hope they are as much fun.

Hot Pot Night! by Vincent Chen

Hot Pot Night! by Vincent Chen
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

This book had wonderful illustrations. There were very few words, but the point still came across. The book was about neighbors coming together to make and eat hot pot. Each of the neighbors brings something to the table to cook and share. It’s a story about being together and sharing the work and each other’s company. I was a little disappointed when the neighbors seem to have left and didn’t finish doing the dishes with cleanup.

The food and neighbors were drawn well and I loved the way that all the colors came together to make the story complete.
