I wasn’t thrilled about the story and plot of this story, but the illustrations are wonderful.
I kept thinking that the snail, since he was at a picnic, would end up being part of the meal instead of eating it. It caused a little stress for me, especially since part of the illustration including the snail slime across the table. Ew.
