The Trial Path by Zitkála-Šá
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I picked this up for school required reading. It was really very interesting to learn about how Native American children were taken advantage of and separated from their families. The “paleface” people didn’t seem to care about what they were doing to the culture of these people by taking the children away to educate them.
I am glad that I got to read about this, since I know very little about the culture, other than what I have picked up in the last few years.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants a short book that is educational.
