My friend planned a weekend camping trip for her birthday. Small, relaxing, minimal agenda. We started out with happy hour after we got the tents up.
My goal was to fit in my chair and finish a book and make progress in another one. I actually finished two.
We didn’t really need a camp fire because it was close to 100 degrees, but we needed the light, so the battery operated lantern served as our fire.
Some shots of the campsite.
Two of the campers went home early because of strep. The two of us who were left decided to make it easy and went out to lunch. No dishes to wash.
We went to the tractor supply store, just because.
We went wine tasting. Most of the wines were wonderful. It had a long list that we tasted. We each bought two bottles.
This is Lucy. She was the greeter at the winery.
When we got back to the campsite, we napped and went to the river.
After the river, we had a mini happy hour and dinner. We went to bed early. The campground was a little noisy, but we were tired enough to sleep through the night.
We got up early and packed the car. We were on the road by 9:15 am and beat the traffic.
After I came home, unloaded the groceries I boght on the way home, unloaded most of the camping gear, ran a load of laundry and showered, I sat on my bed. I was joined by Inky who seems to have missed me.
It was a wonderful weekend, other than the bug bites.
