I am a list maker. I am afraid of forgetting something, so I make sure I write it down.
I have shopping lists, to-do lists, to get to eventually lists, etc. If I am going on a trip, I make a packing list.
Mental lists don’t work for longer than a two minute period, but I still make them and still try to follow them. I make my lists early, so I have time to remember what I’ve forgotten.
My friend asks me often what is on my agenda. She pointed out that I always have a list. I never just say “nothing” and I never have just one thing on it.
I found out recently that the list making trait has to do with some forms of ADHD. There is so much going on in the noggin that it has to be sorted somehow. When it was pointed out that I am making lists of EVERYTHING, I tried to stop. Nope. I can’t do it. It’s just part of who I am.
