There is general controversy about audiobooks counting as books. Because of that, I limited myself to 10 audiobooks on my challenge. I planned this. A book a week, plus ten audiobooks – 62 books.
I do consider audiobooks real books, but I found that a lot of people do not. I find that most of these people are not readers. They don’t realize that it still takes concentration to get the information in and follow the story.
The bookclubs have members who do both. It’s about 50/50 in them. Some members alternate between audio and text. It’s the same book. The same words to discuss.
I am continuing to count my audiobooks in my annual challenge total. They still come from the library and need an audiobook reader. Therefore, I consider them books.
